Competitive Swimming

Inspire ($1100 2022/2023 Season):

This is the entry-level competitive group in the swim program. Emphasis will be on drills and technique of all four strokes while maintaining a fun learning environment. Aerobic capacity will build with some longer sets throughout the year. Swimmer and coach goals focus on the 200m freestyle and 200m Individual Medley(IM) which are expected to be raced at provincial sanctioned swim meets/time trials throughout the year. Swimmers are expected to adhere to code of conduct and always behave in a respectful manner

Development ($1300 2022/2023 Season):

Swimmers placed in this group have experience with the swim team and attending swim meets. The focus of this group is to develop technique further while incorporating racing strategies and fast swimming. Swimmers will be introduced to dry-land training, core strengthening and stretching. It is expected that swimmers attend multiple swim meets per year with the goal of qualifying for Swimming NL Provincial Championships. Swimmers are expected to adhere to code of conduct and always behave in a respectful manner. Performance This is our highest level of swimming in the club and

Performance ($1700 2022/2023 Season):

This is our highest level of swimming in the club and swimmers in this group act as role models for the rest of the club. Excellent attendance at both practices and swim meets are expected. Swimmers will focus on pushing their skills in test sets, aiming for long aerobic capabilities, and maintaining good technique while swimming fast! All swimmers should have/within reach of Swimming NL Provincial Championship qualification times with the ultimate goal of performing at an out-of-province swim meet. This group demands the highest level of both personal and team dedication. One hundred percent commitment is required for this group to be successful in achieving its goals. Swimmers are expected to adhere to code of conduct and always behave in a respectful manner.


Move- Up Criteria for competitive swimmers:

• Strong commitment to the sport, good attendance, and goal focused upon moving groups

• Strong work ethic with a good attitude

• Appropriate skill base to succeed in the next level

• Consent of their present and future group coaches
